Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!

The feel of summer is in the air!! Memorial Day weekend is just about here. It is the official last day for our seniors and the weather is finally warm!!! There is definitely an air of excitement and happiness at school as we all prepare for the last few weeks of this year.

The library had a the distinct honor this week of being presented a beautiful gift from the class of '65. Last year, the 1965 graduating class had their 50th reunion and part of their weekend-long festivities included a tour of the new school. The class was so impressed with the library they wanted to make a gift donation. After careful thought they decided on something that would last "throughout time," and this week we were honored to accept a beautiful clock that will watch over the library for decades to come! On behalf of the class of '65, Nancy Carr and Dzintars Rozitis presented myself and principal Brian Harrigan with a beautiful clock. We are so thankful for such a nice donation and believe it will be a beautiful permanent fixture to our library!

Happy Friday!

 Author Visit-Jen McMahon

As we move into the final weeks of school, everyone is looking ahead to the summer and the excitement warm weather brings. Although the weather has not been cooperating in the warmth department I am hopeful we will have a hot summer!!

Last week we were fortunate enough to host local author Jen McMahon in the library as she lead a  discussion on the writing process for Ms. Napier-Bernstein's Creative Writing class. Ms. McMahon is not only a celebrated young adult author but she is a parent of children in the district and has a vested interest in sharing her craft with our local students. Ms. McMahon has written Bohermore and has received strong reviews. The students and teachers were so impressed with her discussion and learned a lot. We love hosting authors and I want to give a shout out to Ms. Carrick who is always so adept at bringing in engaging authors for our students!

It's Prom night and there is an air of excitement and happiness throughout the school! Here is hoping the rain holds off for everyone going and it is a safe and fun night for Natick High!
In honor of the prom, the library has celebrated "prom throughout the years" we have dresses from years past, photos throughout the decades and some great books all about the special night!!! Students get a kick out of what was "fashionable" back in the day.

Here Comes the Sun......

"Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right"-The Beatles

We Hope!!! It has been one long gloomy week outside with the constant rain and gray skies since last Saturday. But it has been sunny and buzzing in the library this week. AP exams began and the library has been full of students studying and classes using the library while exams take place. It is hard to believe we are in the last 30 days of classes before the summer!

Robot Invasion

"This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare"-David Bowie

Ms. Lavezzo's Spanish 3.1 and 3.2 classes created robots to  describe future problems in the environment,  and to make a robot and say what it will do to help! The robot had to be made with at least 3 recyclable materials.
