Read Read....

Just Another Week!

Another busy week in the library! Global Awareness classes continue to work on their first research assignment, and students are studying for tests and collaborating on projects! Preschoolers have been so enthusiastic during story time and Sassy has had so many visitors! We love to see the energy in the library!

 Happy Sassy

Sassy continues to be a popular subject for digital photography students! She is happy to sit for pictures (usually because she is earning some treats!) Freshmen Caroline Gates took this great picture of Sassy this week! We love to see her happy and the joy she brings to NHS!

Book of the Week

I just finished reading And Then She Was Gone / Lisa Jewell. It was a haunting disturbing read that sits with you long after the story ends. Like thrillers, come to  the library and check it out!!

Ellie Mack was the perfect daughter. She was fifteen, the youngest of three. She was beloved by her parents, friends, and teachers. She and her boyfriend made a teenaged golden couple. She was days away from an idyllic post-exams summer vacation, with her whole life ahead of her. And then she was gone. Now, her mother Laurel Mack is trying to put her life back together. It's been ten years since her daughter disappeared, seven years since her marriage ended, and only months since the last clue in Ellie's case was unearthed"--Jacket flap.

Busy Times....

 Setting the Tone

Students and staff have been hard at work this week as we reach the mid point of first term. By now schedules are set, patterns and routines are established and we are all getting into the swing of school.

 How Can I Help You?

Sassy has been a fixture at school this year and is eager to help out everyone she sees! She has also bonded with the preschoolers and loves starting her day with a visit from her special friend Will!

Book Review of the Week

"Six years ago, Moss Jefferies' father was murdered by an Oakland police officer. Along with losing a parent, the media's vilification of his father and lack of accountability has left Moss with near crippling panic attacks. Now, in his sophomore year of high school, Moss and his fellow classmates find themselves increasingly treated like criminals in their own school. New rules. Random lockersearches. Constant intimidation and Oakland Police Department stationed in their halls. Despite their youth, the students decide to organize and push back against the administration. When tensions hit a fever pitch and tragedy strikes, Moss must face a difficult choice: give in to fear and hate or realize that anger can actually be a gift."--Provided by publisher.

Just A Typical Week in the Library!

Just Another Week in the Library!

Our first full week of school is under our belts and a busy one it was for all! We had freshmen Global Awareness classes working on their "Check the Tag" project and juniors immersed in their first independent reading project in Ms. Rogers English class!  The preschool train made its 2018-19 debut and the library is decked out in everything Halloween! Sassy had so many visitors and we topped it off with a successful Open House Thursday night. It has been a productive and exciting week in the library!
